Early Beginnings (Pre-1960s)
Kerala’s rural economy relied heavily on traditional markets, creating the need for an organized cooperative marketing system.
Formation of Marketfed (1960s)
Establishment of the Kerala State Co-operative Marketing Federation (MARKETFED) to support farmers and strengthen agricultural marketing.
Expansion of Warehousing & Services (1970s)
Development of storage facilities, procurement centers, and strengthened distribution of fertilizers and agricultural inputs.
Diversification into Value-Added Products (1990s–2000s)
Introduction of food and spice products, with partnerships involving cooperatives and farmer groups.
Modernisation Phase (2010s)
Improved logistics, branded product lines, and enhanced financial discipline through restructuring.
New Identity & Brand Transformation (2020–2023)
Launch of a new brand identity, packaging upgrades, and increased participation in retail fairs and exhibitions.
Expansion to National Markets (2023)
Entry into national markets including Delhi, with plans for retail partnerships and NCR-based packaging units.
